Hengjaya Mine Was Pleased to Host a Visit From Astra International Group 

Tangofa, May 3rd, 2024 – Hengjaya Mine was pleased to host a visit from Astra International Group. This visit was led by Frans Kesuma as an Astra International CEO and Chiew Sin Cheok as an Astra International CFO Accompanied by Iwan Hadiantoro as Director of United Tractors, Muliady as Director of PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara, Ruli Tanio as Director of Agincourt Resources and Noviandri as General Manager of PT Pama Persada. This visit aims to find out how PT Hengjaya Mineralindo runs its business from a technical, environmental, safety and sustainability perspective.

 

 

Triswan Mardani Ade Surya, as Mine Plan Engineering Superintendent, said in his presentation that the nickel reserves in the PT Hengjaya Mineralindo IUP area have great potential to be exploited over a long period of time. Apart from that, Hengjaya Mineralindo in carrying out its mining activities has implemented Good Mining Practices so that the Company has binding rules and restrictions as a guarantee that protects the rights of the environment, workers and communities around the mining area.

From an Environmental perspective, Virgo Lelono as Environment Manager, also stated that in environmental management, Hengjaya Mine has environmental programs that continue to be developed and evaluated on an ongoing basis so that it can ensure that in practice there is no damage or pollution to the environmental ecosystem and that it complies with existing regulations.

While from the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) perspective, The application of ESG  principles is very important to minimize environmental impacts, improve the social conditions of local communities, and ensure sustainable corporate governance. In practice, Hengjaya Mineralindo adopts environmentally friendly practices, such as increasing energy efficiency, responsible waste management and natural resource conservation to support environmental sustainability. In addition, ESG approaches social aspects, such as local community involvement, gender equality, and fair employment opportunities, which can improve relations between companies and communities and create long-term value for all parties involved.
